NEW LUXURY HANDBAG COLLECTION WITH INTERIOR TOUCH LIGHT HAS LAUNCHED

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
This newly designed built-in touch light solves the problem of having to endlessly rummage through your handbag in the dark. The Chinyere Ugoji brand combines modern luxury with style, function and innovation to help simplify life for today’s mobile woman.

New York, NY (December 15, 2015) - Designer Chinyere Ugoji has created a beautiful collection of high quality leather handbags with the practicality of a built-in touch light. The LED light is activated with a tap of a finger on a touch sensor encased in a small leather pocket. The light is removable and powered by an easy-to-replace watch battery. The flexible leather pocket can also be positioned to light up exterior objects like a front door lock or a check in a dimly lit restaurant. The styles range from slouchy hobos and travel bags to structured work totes that hold laptops and other business essentials. The collection retails from $195.00 to $795.00.

These bags solve a problem many women face, according to the designer.

“Beyond creativity, design is all about problem solving,” Ugoji said. “As women, we have much better things to do than constantly digging through our handbags. When we can’t find our house keys, cell phone or lipstick in the dark it becomes a problem. Having a bag with a built-in touch light solves that problem and saves a lot of time.”

Ugoji has fused fashion with technology and the end result is undoubtedly the next designer label to look out for.

The collection is available exclusively online at ugoji.com.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland to a South American mother and a Nigerian father, Chinyere Ugoji lived in London in her younger years before moving to Canada. She attended Ryerson University in Toronto where she received a B.A.A. in Apparel Design. She next moved to New York City to pursue a career in fashion. New York proved to be a successful move for Ugoji, who attended a handbag design and craftsmanship course at Parsons School for Design. The exposure to the creativity and sculpture of designing handbags inspired her to move from the apparel industry into accessory design.

She has spent more than 20 years in New York working as a Designer & Creative Director for various fashion companies and now uses that experience to manage her own business. In 2015, she launched her eponymous collection of luxury handbags.
